I always bring a pair of comfy boots when I taevrl...esp to Paris. I wear my converse there but sometimes you just want something a little dressier and my flats have no support so after a few hours my feet and shins are all ouchy (nevermind the blisters!)...so, I like to bring a flattish pair of boots that I can dress up or down. when you are there you MUST visit my favorite boot shop in Paris. It's called Chausserie and it's on the Rue de Buci in the Latin Quarter. I even have a photo of it for reference if you want it! It's across the street from a Paul cafe and a market. It's next door to the Hotel du Buci - a very quaint and charming hotel that I've stayed in several times. You will not regret a visit to this shop! I've gotten two pairs of boots there on two different trips and I love them! enjoy!! so excited for you:) april in paris is divine!
